Steffan is a Welsh filmmaker based in London.
He creates character-driven films with a sensitivity for conceptual and sensory aesthetics.
His 2023 cinematic documentary, Gary Stevenson - Life Out of Balance, is featured on Directors' Library.
Amongst other projects, Steffan is directing a feature documentary about Japanese culture through the lens of skateboarding, ‘Skate in Japan’. The project is a recipient of funding from the Daiwa Foundation Grant scheme. Daiwa is an Anglo-Japanese foundation. This film will be completed in 2025.
Co-directing with sound artist and composer, Eiji John Infante Mitsuta, Steffan is also creating a film about listening, sound and life, ‘Fishing’. Due for release Spring 2025.
